If you encounter a "Source file not found" error similar to this during any product installation you have a problem with a Windows Security Update and the UAC control.

 

 

A workaround is to whitelist the installer following this procedure:

  • Create a DWORD named SecureRepairPolicy with value 2 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
  • Create Key SecureRepairWhitelist in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
  • In SecureRepairWhitelist create a String with the Product ID you want to whitelist as name. You can get the specific product ID by running the installer with the logs enabled and grabbing it at the Product Code property
