Hi all,

we're currently in the process of building a new server. The server has 48Cores and 256GB Ram and it runs WinServer 2019.

I was wondering what the optimal amount of cores and ram would be so that scanshare can run to the best of its abilities without any bottlenecks. Our general workflows revolve around scanshare so any time shaved of the processing would be great.

Best regards,

Andre

Hi Andre,

normally we do suggest a 8 core machine with 16 or 32GB of RAM for optimal performances. Process is a single document queue (when not using Load Balancing) and will benefit completely of a dedicated core when other processes can use the other core without issues.

RAM, instead, will be more beneficial because Scanshare is a native 64bits application and can make use of any amount of RAM according the type and size of documents which are processed, so the more there is free for other system processes and the more the server will avoid any disk caching which might slow down processing.
