Supported Question Types in Desktop Client

I am not sure if this is a bug or working as designed. I am setting up a DocNav v5 proof of concept where the customer wishes to scan documents from an MFD or Dedicated Scanner. My workflow contains the MFD Client and Desktop PC Client. We have created five questions '2 x Typed' '1 Selected from List' '1x Date' and '1x Numeric'.

The above questions show up in the Embedded Client and Web Client within the Designer, but when I open up the Desktop PC Client the 'Date' and 'Numeric' questions are not listed.

Can you confirm if this is a bug?

Version Installed: Document Navigator v5.21.08 64bit

Hi Brett,

 

no bugs and problems, it works perfectly as designed and descripted.

Not all clients have the ability to have all questions available it is due to the various different technologies used (available in case of embedded client on MFP). For this reason you will find the different types of question listed for each client in the designer during the creation of the workflow.

So to clarify, the PC Client within the Designer will not show Questions of type "Numeric" or "Date"?

Can this function be added to the PC Client in the future?

  1. yes
  2. No, the PC Client for now will not have updates because it is replaced by the Web Client. Which as you have already said contains many improvements and above all it is a "Web" client.
